Blogs We Love - City Compromise Agreements

As I said in my last post about finding the perfect picture for your blog or website, the success of your site  - once you have driven visitors to it through optimisation - will depend on two things - content and design.

ReadySteadyBlog recently worked with firm of solicitors, Guy Thompson & Co to create a conventional website (using Typepad) for their niche business area of the negotiation of City Compromise Agreements on behalf of employers or employees in the City of London.

We are both delighted with the results.

Guy Thompson had already set up a Typepad blog for this arm of their legal business and he  had created a number of blog posts about the benefits and ramifications of the Compromise Agreement. 

I answered his request for feedback on the site and felt there were a number of improvements he could make in both categories - design and content.

I'd like to share the story of Lorraine Armstrong and Share the Dream because it's a great example of how your blog can boost your business, even when it's already an online business you're running. 

And here at ReadySteadyBlog, we're proud to have been part of Lorraine's blog adventure.

Share The Dream, in case you've not come across it yet, is the online place to buy and sell wedding dresses and accessories and it's run by the abundant, the beautiful Lorraine Armstrong.

Lorraine's online business was doing pretty well but she felt she needed a way to connect more easily with her target market than she could do with just a conventional website.  That was back in January of this year - 2008.

The trouble was she knew nothing about blogging, least of all how to set one up from scratch.  She says:

"My greatest challenges when I thought 'I want my own Blog' were just about everything really.  I didn't know even what colour I wanted on the page. Had not a clue about RSS feeds or buttons!  No idea even how to set it all out.  I have many skills.  Alas, not the right ones to undertake blog building."

So how is it that just a couple of months later I'm getting emails like this:

"Can't tell you how much of a difference the blog makes to my marketing, Marion.  It's my link to the world, makes me accessible to lots of folk who don't know how to use a website.  I'm inundated with requests for manual purchases for adverts.  IT'S A WOWEE.

Did I ever give you a testimonial?  By God do you deserve one or a 100."
